Emily's warmth, grace, style and brilliance will always be remembered. Her life was cruelly short but her impact was huge. Proud to have known her. With love and sadness. x
Miss Emma Hoskyns
So many memories of working with Emily. Driving to locations listening to her on the phone chatting to her husband and daughters or ordering blue velour cushions. 'Well they had to match the curtains,' she said as I laughed. I was always amazed by her endurance during the Covid Epidemic. Long days, Monday to Friday, all over the country away from her beloved family. Emily's scripting was second to none and her 'Pieces to Camera' were always perfect for the situation. One time I had informed Emily that the day's filming was being ingested whilst she sat in the edit suite. She turned and said 'Phil' then mouthed a swear word at me. She then collapsed in a fit of giggles. There was no comeback for me and she knew it. To Emily's husband, daughters, family and close friends I send my heartfelt condolences. Emily was special, so very special. Phil Canty

I didn’t know Emily yet felt such a sense of shock at her untimely death. I hope the wonderful tributes from friends and strangers alike bring some comfort to her loved ones at such an incredibly difficult time for them. Her humanity, warmth and compassion shone through in her reporting and I’m sure there will be many of us who won’t forget her regular reports from the Intensive Care Wards during Covid-19, brought to us with such professionalism and sensitivity. Rest in Peace, Emily. Sending love to her family and friends, Jackie Dixon

Miss mary burke
Like many, I didn’t know Emily personally. But for a very long time as family, and a nation, we allowed her, and her courageous storytelling into our living rooms nearly every evening with her Covid19 updates. As a journalist she appeared immensely brave & utterly committed to delivering the news, especially health news, in a simplistic but fully explained manner that everyone could understand. I can’t imagine the desperately unbearable pain of grief and loss her husband, children and wider family are feeling, and it is to them that I send our deepest condolences. RIP Emily. You will be missed. ❤️
